We don't have a lot of money and I really didn't want to spend much not knowing how she would like it. This turned out to be a great price for just what we needed.It is giving her the exposure she needs right now. I'm not sure if she'll continue with the instrument, but for now this was the perfect size and the perfect price. The fact that it came with a carrying case and the picks was even better. The only thing we had to buy separately for the school was a tuner. Our 7 yr old daughter has shown an interest in learning to play the guitar. We were told to just buy a cheap one, that once they showed a commitment to learning to play, at that point we could invest more money into a better one.We gave this to "Uncle Benjamin" to check out as he was the one who would be teaching our daughter. He played around with it for a very short while before saying he couldn't even make some of the most basic cords as there was a "fret" missing - I think it was a C chord that he couldn't play. Thankful for Amazon's return service. We are now looking for a replacement.
